Oil Late Model Dirt Series Returns on June 17-18

8, 2022) The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series returns
to Smoky Mountain Speedway for two huge nights of racing on June
17 and 18 for the Mountain Moonshine Classic presented by Lazy
Days RV. The highlight of the weekend will be the $50,000 to win
race on June 18, the largest overall purse in the history of the
speedway.
On Friday, June 17, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will
be competing in a full program of racing consisting of time trials,
heat races, B-main, and two 30-lap A-mains that will pay $5,000
to each winner. Also racing on June 17 will be the classic cars
for $600 to win/$100 to start and front wheel drive cars for $500
to win/$50 to start.
Action resumes on Saturday, June 18 with heat races, where lineups
are determined from Friday’s features, and B-mains by the
Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and featuring a 60-lap A-Main
where the winner will collect $50,000. The Saturday night program
will also see sportsman late models racing for $800 to win/$150
to start and mini stocks for $1,000 to win/$50 to start.
Brandon Sheppard currently leads the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt
Series standings over defending series champion Tim McCreadie.
Tyler Erb, Jimmy Owens, Ricky Thorton Jr., Hudson O’Neal,
Earl Pearson Jr., Spencer Hughes, Ashton Winger, Garrett Albertson,
Ross Robinson, and Daulton Wilson are expected to attend.
Other expected drivers include Jonathan Davenport, Brandon Overton,
Scott Bloomquist, Chris Madden, Dale McDowell, Chris Ferguson,
Kyle Bronson, Ricky Weiss, Kyle Strickler, and many others.
Dirt Racing Outreach will be conducting a service at 3:30 p.m.
on Saturday, June 18 at the pavilion located next to the concession
stand. Everyone is welcome to attend.
All gates will open at noon on both days. The drivers meeting
is set for 6:30 both nights. Hot laps, time trials, and racing
action will begin at 7:00 on both nights.
Grandstand general admission ticket prices on Friday, June 17
are $30 for adults, kids 11 and under are free. Reserved seats
are $35, kids 11 and under are $5. Tier parking tickets are $40
for adults, kids 11 and under are free. Pit passes are $40 for
adults, kids 11 and under are $20. Reserved pit passes are $45
12 and up.

Chairs will only be allowed on the concrete areas of the grandstands.
Small seatbacks and cushions are permitted elsewhere. We ask that
fans that are using large chairs use the top rows to prevent blocking
others view. Anyone wanting a seat on the concrete bleachers are
asked to get to the track early. There will be an overflow seating
area available in the grassy area next to the turn 4 grandstands.

Race haulers and track personnel will be the only vehicles allowed
to park in the pit area both nights. There is plenty of overflow
parking on the property next to the main grandstand entrance road.
Media requests must be submitted through the track’s web
site. Deadline is Wednesday, June 15 at 7 p.m. Those working for
accredited media publications/sites will be given priority over
freelance workers. Fans are asked not to enter victory lane until
all media members are finished. Only the winning drivers, crews,
and media members will be allowed in victory lane until all post-ceremonies
are completed.
Smoky Mountain Speedway is located 12 miles south of Maryville,
Tennessee. From Maryville, take Highway 411 south for 10 miles
and turn left onto Brick Mill Road. Follow Brick Mill Road for
approximately 2 miles, the racetrack is on the right. The first
entrance is for grandstand parking. The second entrance is tier
parking and campground access. The pit entrance is the next right
on Crye Road.
