    Smoky Mountain Speedway’s ‘Mountain Outlaw 50’ Up Next on Saturday May 7th

    MARYVILLE, Tenn. – May 2, 2016 – The World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series will make a scheduled appearance at “America’s Special Events Track” the Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn. this Saturday Night May 7th for the Fourth Annual Mountain Outlaw 50 presented by NAPA Auto Parts.

    In addition to the Outlaws gunning for the $10,000 payday, the Sportsman Late Models will race for $1,200-to-win and the Street Stocks will compete for $800-to-win.

    Previous Outlaw winners at Smoky Mountain Speedway include: Shane Clanton of Zebulon, Ga. in 2013; Rained out in 2014; and Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tenn. in 2015.

    Josh Richards of Shinnston, W.V. leads the field of World of Outlaws regulars to the double-dip with Ponderosa (Ky.) Speedway Friday and Smoky Mountain Speedway Saturday. Richards holds a 130 point lead over defending WoO LMS champion Shane Clanton, while Rick Eckert of York, Pa. and Brian Shirley of Chatham, Ill. are tied for third in the series points while Brandon Overton of Evans, Ga. is fifth in the points.

    The pits will open on May 7th at Noon, while the grandstand and tier parking gates open at 3:00 pm, and the driver’s meeting is set for 7:00 pm and hot laps will roll out around 7:30 pm. Adult general admission for the May 7th event will be $25.00. Adult tier parking is $30.00 per person and adult pit passes are $40.00.

    During the last racing event on April 23rd, Mike Marlar claimed the $5,000 payday over Skip Arp and T.J. Reaid during the Southern Allstars-sanctioned WIMZ 103.5 Rockin’ with the Stars race. Derek Hagar of Marion, Ark. claimed the feature victory with the USCS Outlaw Thunder 360 Sprint Series on April 23rd while David Hall of Tampa, Fla. drove to victory lane in the USCS 600 Mini Sprint Series event.

    Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, Ga. claimed the $5,000 prize in the Ultimate Super Late Model Series / Ultimate Battle of the Bluegrass event on Saturday April 2nd. Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tenn. the $15,000 payday during the Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series-sanctioned Tennessee Tipoff Classic on March 12th over Randy weaver, Mike Marlar, Darrell Lanigan and Dale McDowell.
