Classic Next Event for Smoky Mountain Speedway
(June
10, 2021) The 17th annual Iron Man Classic is the next
event at Smoky Mountain Speedway on Saturday, June 19. The event
is co-headlined by the Valvoline Iron Man Late Model Series and
the Brucebilt Iron Man Open Wheel Modified Series.
Jensen Ford leads the Valvoline Iron Man’s south division
heading into the $5,000 to win race at Smoky Mountain Speedway.
Donald McIntosh, Tommy Kerr, Michael Chilton, Robby Moses, David
Crabtree, and others are expected for the Iron Man Classic.
The Brucebilt Open Wheel Modified Series will see some of the
area’s top open wheelers on hand for this $1,200 to win
race.
Also racing on June 19 with be the limited late models for $1,500
to win and the 602 late models for $800 to win. The 602 late models
will be racing under the Red Clay Series rules.
During the intermission, there will be a backward race for street
legal cars. The cars will go around Smoky Mountain Speedway in
reverse for 3 laps. The winner will get $500 courtesy Garner’s
Automotive in Maryville. Entrants may pre-enter on the track’s
Facebook page or at the track the night of the event.
Pit gates will open at 2:00. Grandstand and tier parking gates
will open at 3:00. The drivers meeting is set for 6:00. Hot laps,
time trials, and racing action will begin at 6:30.
Grandstand ticket prices are $20 for adults, kids 11 and under
are free. Tier parking tickets are $35 for adults, kids 11 and
under are free. Pit passes are $35 for adults, kids 11 and under
are $15.
Smoky Mountain Speedway is located 12 miles south of Maryville,
Tennessee. From Maryville, take Highway 411 south for 10 miles
and turn left onto Brick Mill Road. Follow Brick Mill Road for
approximately 2 miles, the racetrack is on the right. The first
entrance is for grandstand parking. The second entrance is for
tier parking and campground access. The pit entrance is the next
right on Crye Road.
